In the absence of The Network during July and August while its Editor takes a well-earned rest, “Update”, which hasn’t seen any green shoots of recovery since October 2021, brings you the latest news from OIR.
MEMBERSHIP RENEWALS
Although the first attempt at e-mailing 100 Renewal Invitations led to several copies of Jean’s Invitation failing to be delivered, it was decided’ after a minor change was implemented, to extend it to everyone outwith Largs, although some Members in West Kilbride still had them hand-delivered.
Thanks to Agnes Kennedy for organising members of the Saturday Walking Group  who, together with other volunteers, delivered 500+ copies throughout Largs.
To avoid the usual scrum around the desk on Open Day (Wednesday 4th September) why not renew your membership beforehand as 261 have already done!

Sheila Maxwell, our new Outings Organiser, was Co-opted to the Committee at their July 11th meeting.
OUTING – EDINBURGH
Join us for a day out in Edinburgh during the Festival, travelling there by bus on Thursday 22nd August
 
Departing Bath Street, Largs at 10 am and leaving Edinburgh for the return journey around 8 pm.    We should be back in Largs by 10 pm.
 
Tickets are £22 and available from the Office, open weekdays 10 am until noon.

THE BIG BRUNCH
Well, the Big Brunch has come and gone so if you missed it, please do try and make it to the next one.
We got together in the delicatessen, ate well, spoke a lot.  Never got anywhere near stand-up bingo.  Maybe next time.  There was way too much talking going on.  Lots to catch up on.  A great chance for a natter.
