Organisations for the Elderly
Age UK Scotland manages the Scottish telephone Helpline for Older people, which gives information to older people in Scotland and those concerned about them. Call 0845 125 9732, Monday to Friday, 10 am - 4 pm. Age Concern also produces over 40 comprehensive factsheets designed to answer many of the questions older people - or those advising them - may have. You can download individual factsheets from this website or ask for them to be sent to you by post.
Help the Aged in Scotland lobbies on behalf of older people. Its website contains general advice and information, as well as more specific information on health and care, money, services for the elderly, and home shopping. Help the Aged also runs SeniorLine, which is a free telephone advice service for older people, their relatives, carers and friends. Call 0808 800 6565, Monday to Friday, 9am-4pm.
