Potential New Group: Mindful Movement
Mindful Movement with Thomas
Dao Yin & Qigong
Monday Mornings (Starting Nov 2026) | £5/class
Discover a gentle, refreshing way to ease stiffness, boost your energy and find your natural rhythm. Dao Yin uses therapeutic stretching and joint-loosening to prepare and mobilise the body. The class then moves into Qigong exercises to build energy, with longer flowing sequences to help circulate it throughout the body. Slow, steady breathing accompanies the movements, encouraging relaxation and a sense of flow: often described as meditation in motion. Together, these practices can help improve mobility, balance, strength and vitality, release tension and calm the mind. With roots older than Tai Chi, they offer a complementary approach for those who already enjoy it and may also appeal to people familiar with Yoga or Pilates. Seated and standing options are available, and exercises can be adapted to suit your range of motion, with scope for more dynamic practice where comfortable. Beginners and those with previous experience are welcome to learn at their own pace and gradually deepen their practice.
If you are interested in joining this class there is a sheet in the OIR Office for you to sign up.
