"The Legacy of George Wyllie"
Talk by Willie Sutherland from the Wyllieum Museum in Greenock
Home to the largest collection of works by George Wyllie, the Wyllieum, which sits on the River Clyde in Greenock, showcases Wyllie’s work and legacy. It hosts a rolling display of exhibitions and displays of art which connect to Wyllie by outlook or ethos alongside a permanent collection display showing items from the George Wyllie Estate, ephemera and archival material. The year-round gallery programme showcases Wyllie’s practice and places it in dialogue with his collaborators while also creating a platform for contemporary artistic responses to his work.
Monthly Meetings
An informal gathering, to which all Members are invited, is held at 2 pm in Largs Parish Church Hall, normally on the first Wednesday of each month, from September to June, except during Lent* when it moves to Thursday.
There is usually a Guest Speaker or some other form of entertainment, followed by a chance to meet and chat with Members. In addition, announcements are made about any changes to the Groups or Outings, including any news items.
Light refreshments are provided at the end of each Session.
These Sessions are an opportunity to seek out Group Leaders and Committee Members to ask any questions that you may have and to make suggestions for new activities to be added to our list.
