OIR Largs Data Protection Policy:

Purpose & Scope:  We collect and retain the personal details of all Members of OIR Largs for the purpose of managing the list of Annual Members (New and Returning) and for the identification of the individual Groups in which Members are participating.  

We also use the data for communicating with Members on updates, events, and Newsletter distribution.

Protection Principles: We fully comply with the law and operate fair, and transparent processing.

Lawful Basis for Processing: All Members are asked to provide us with their consent for the storage of their data when they complete the Membership Form.

Data Subject Rights: Members are welcome to request clarity of their data stored and correction.  In the first instance they should contact the Membership Secretary and escalate to the Chairperson if required.

Data Security & Breach Procedures:  Membership data is stored on a separate dedicated  computer which is stored securely.  Any data breach will be reported to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) and to the Charity Commission for Scotland.

Retention & Disposal: All computer held data on a Member is deleted immediately upon cancellation of their Membership.
