Threave's wonderful garden has been created over the years by students of the Trusts School of Heritage Gardening, it is a fine example of landscaped beauty. The garden is divided into a series of smaller gardens to showcase different styles, including a rose garden, rockery and walled garden. At the centre stands Threave House, designed in the Scottish Baronial style in 1871 for the Gordon Family.

Explore one of Scotland's most biodiverse nature reserves, with a remarkable collection of wildlife flora and fauna.

The garden does have a cafe facility with a selection of hot & cold fayre

Entrance to the garden for non members £9.90 payable on arrival.

We are aiming to spend approx. 3hours at Threave before moving onto the town centre 5 miles away.

Castle Douglas known as Scotland's only designated "Food Town" offers over 50 local businesses including artisan bakers, high quality butchers, chocolatiers and craft breweries alongside Threave Castle and the scenic Carlingwark Loch perfect for walking, picnicking and bird watching. There is a wide range of eateries to buy and eat prepared food.

We are also looking to spend around 3 hours here before making the homeward journey.

The current coach has a W.C facility for our comfort.
